Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Seymour/Southport, CT, for both an Associate Attorney and a Paralegal. The Associate Attorney will assist with case strategy, draft pleadings and motions, conduct legal research, prepare legal opinions, and represent clients in negotiations and, where appropriate, at hearings or other proceedings under supervision as needed. The Paralegal will support attorneys by organizing case files, drafting and reviewing documents, conducting factual and legal research, and maintaining calendars and deadlines. Both roles will interact with clients, gather and analyze information, coordinate with external parties, and help prepare materials for meetings, mediations, and other case-related activities. Team members will also contribute to internal process improvements and ensure compliance with firm and legal standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to interpret and apply legal principles to varied fact patterns.
  • Experience or focused interest in Labor and Employment Law, including familiarity with relevant statutes and regulations.
  • Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice under supervision (for attorneys) or to support advice through high-quality drafting and organization (for paralegals).
  • Proficient Research skills, including case law, statutes, administrative guidance, and secondary sources.
  • Effective Negotiation skills or demonstrated aptitude to support negotiations through preparation of summaries, proposals, and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to client service and ethical practice.
  • For Associate Attorney: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission in good standing to the Connecticut bar (or eligibility for admission within a reasonable time frame).
  • For Paralegal: Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience in a law firm setting preferred.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and standard office software; experience with law firm case-management systems is a plus.
