Our client is a leading Australian financial services organisation seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its growing legal team, based in Sydney.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer looking to broaden their in-house experience across a diverse range of legal, regulatory and governance matters. The role offers significant stakeholder exposure and the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders on strategic initiatives in a highly regulated environment

In this role, the successful candidate will provide broad legal support across the business, helping to ensure the organisation operates in accordance with its legal, regulatory and governance obligations. You will work directly with business stakeholders, managing matters with a high degree of autonomy while escalating material legal, regulatory, governance or risk issues as appropriat

- iesDraft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial, supplier and technology agreements, including SaaS, cloud, IT implementation and professional services contrac
- ts.Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to senior leaders and business stakeholde
- rs.Advise on corporate governance matters, including corporations law, ASX Listing Rules, continuous disclosure obligations and shareholder communicatio
- ns.Assist with the development of policies, standards, training and governance frameworks relating to privacy, data, cyber security, technology contracting and responsible
- AI.Support regulatory change initiatives and business projects across areas including operations, outsourcing, technology, data, privacy, cyber security, AI, operational resilience and supplier risk manageme

About
- youAt least 5+ years' PQE ideally gained within a leading law firm in Austra
- lia.Strong experience in corporate, commercial and/or technology
- law.Proven contract drafting and negotiation skills across commercial, supplier, technology, outsourcing, SaaS/cloud, software, professional services, procurement and data processing arrangeme
- nts.Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment applicable to ASX-listed and APRA-regulated organisati
- ons.Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused adv
