Position: Â Legal Counsel (to be based in Batam)
This position is for Pax Ocean Group, a company under Kuok Group Singapore.
The role acts as the in-house legal support for Yard operational matters.

Duties
and Responsibilities
Providing legal advice and support to Pax Ocean Batam operations, including:
Advising a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters/projects;
Liaising with external lawyers where required;
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal and transactional documentation such as newbuilding contracts, conversion contracts, repair contracts, recycling and module fabrication contracts, joint venture agreements, leases, vendor and commercial contracts;
Advising on regulatory and compliance matters;
Applying for and maintaining relevant licenses where required;
Coordinating with the corporate secretarial team on matters such as preparing board papers and resolutions.
Minimum Requirements
Law degree from a reputable university, with 8-12 years PQE;
Qualified to practice law in Indonesia or Singapore;
Experience in shipyards, maritime, engineering, procurement, fabrication, tax, employment and labor law, real estate, intellectual property, commercial and corporate law;
Experience in compliance, e.g., anti-corruption, environmental regulations, permits, and licenses;
Fluent in reading and writing in Bahasa;
Able to work independently. Overseas experience is a plus.
