Description
We’re partnering with an employment law firm to find an experienced Paralegal to support a busy team of attorneys who represent employers and executives. This is a contract‑to‑hire role, with the intent to convert to a permanent position. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands‑on with legal documents, understands court filings (state and federal), and wants to work closely with attorneys in a collaborative, boutique firm environment.
You’ll be responsible for:
+ Drafting, formatting, and proofreading pleadings and legal documents
+ Preparing document templates (such as deposition notices and motions)
+ E‑filing documents in both state and federal courts
+ Assisting with litigation tasks, including motions and discovery support
+ Proofreading employment‑related agreements (like severance agreements)
+ Making sure filings are accurate, complete, and submitted correctly the first time
This firm works with high‑level, executive‑level clients, so attention to detail and professionalism are extremely important.
Requirements
+ 2+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience (more experience welcomed)
+ Prior employment law experience preferred, but NOT required if you have strong filing experience
+ Hands‑on experience with state and federal court e‑filing
+ Ability to independently put together and format pleadings
+ Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail
+ Comfortable supporting multiple attorneys in a small firm setting
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
+
Experience with legal billing software is a plus
