We are looking for a Legal Counsel with Asset Management experience in Zurich.

About The Role

  • Provide legal advice on the establishment, distribution, management, and operation of investment funds across Europe.
  • Advise on Luxembourg and Irish fund structures, including UCITS and AIFs.
  • Support the legal aspects of fund launches, product development, and cross-border distribution.
  • Advise on the Swiss regulatory framework applicable to asset managers and collective investment schemes, including FINMA regulations and the Financial Institutions Act (FinIA) and Collective Investment Schemes Act (CISA).
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of legal documentation, including investment management agreements, distribution agreements, service provider agreements, and fund documentation.
  • Partner with Compliance and Risk on regulatory developments and implementation projects.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and international stakeholders where required.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the asset management business in Switzerland and Europe.

About The Candidate

  • Approximately 6 years of professional experience in asset management legal work, gained within a law firm, financial institution, or asset manager.
  • Strong knowledge of European investment funds, particularly Luxembourg and Irish fund structures (UCITS and AIFs).
  • Solid understanding of the Swiss regulatory landscape governing asset managers and investment funds.
  • Experience advising on cross-border fund distribution and asset management regulatory matters.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within an international team.
  • Fluency in English and German is essential (both written and spoken).
  • Admission to the Swiss or another bar is not required.
