Senior Legal Counsel – Payments (Contract) – Utrecht – Dutch Speaking
Role Summary
We are looking for a senior lawyer with strong experience in payments, digital products, and financial services regulation.
The successful candidate will work closely with business teams to support the launch of new payment-related products and services, ensuring they comply with relevant laws and regulations while remaining commercially practical.
Location
- Utrecht, Netherlands (Hybrid)
- Office attendance required 2 days per week (Tuesday & Thursday)
Hours
- 36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Advise business teams on new payment products and services
- Review and draft customer terms, conditions, and online agreements
- Support digital and online customer journeys from a legal perspective
- Provide guidance on financial services and payments regulations
- Identify and manage legal and regulatory risks
- Work with multiple stakeholders across business, compliance, and legal teams
Essential Experience
- Qualified lawyer with a Dutch law degree
- Strong experience within Payments, Banking, FinTech, or Financial Services
- Good understanding of payment regulations (PSD2 and related legislation)
- Experience reviewing online contracts and digital products
- Able to communicate complex legal matters in a simple and practical way
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Fluent Dutch and English
