Summary
We are looking for an experienced lawyer to join the international legal team at Vale. This role will be based in Kuala Lumpur and support our shipping, sales and trade finance activities in Asia, Middle East and Europe.

Your Main Responsibilities
Legal support to Shipping, Sales and Trade Finance activities of Vale
Negotiate and work with external parties, suppliers and Vale teams in multiple jurisdictions, including Asia, Middle East and Europe
Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of legal documents and matters
Support with dispute resolution
Identify legal risks to Vale and recommend legal solutions to manage such risks
Conduct research into legal issues, keep abreast of legal developments affecting Vale, its business, and the mining industry
Manage external legal counsel in accordance with budgets
What you need to succeed in this position
Bachelor’s degree in law, with at least 8 years’ experience as a lawyer
Proven track record in drafting contracts, providing legal solutions and managing disputes
Experience with shipping and commodity sales is mandatory
Strong knowledge of international rules, conventions, and legal systems in different jurisdictions (including common law jurisdictions)
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Highly analytical, meticulous, detail oriented
Able to work under pressure, tight deadlines, and different time zones
Flexible to travel for business
