MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

Advising on all legal and regulatory issues (including Payments, e-money, GDPR and data protection) relating toPayPoint’s FCA regulated Payment’s businesses and working with the other members of the legal team supporting these businesses.

Drafting and negotiating contracts to support these businesses.

Support to other PayPoint Group businesses as required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Providing regulatory input to commercial agreements and negotiating agreements as required.

Advising on regulatory developments and briefing business stakeholders.

Attending, minuting and coordinating actions for Board, Management and Risk Meetings for FCA regulated companies as required.

Researching and analysing documents, legislation, case law and regulatory requirements to ensure the accuracy of advice and procedures.

Horizon scanning and reviewing changes and developments in the law and relevant regulations and assessing their impact on the business.

Input into regulatory consultations relevant to PayPoint’s businesses.

Collaboration with other members of Legal and Compliance Teams to support One Team approach.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

Solicitor qualified in England and Wales. The role would suit a lawyer of at least 2 years post qualification, although other applicants will also be considered.

Experience of drafting contracts and providing written and verbal legal advice on commercial and regulatory legal matters.

Experience of working in a FCA regulated business with strong understanding of regulatory principles and themes.

Effective negotiating skills and an attention to detail.

Highly desirable

Experience of GDPR, data protection and data security issues.

Experience of advising on FCA regulatory matters.

Experience of advising on payment services, e-money and consumer hire/ credit would be preferable but is not essential

Prior inhouse experience.

Effective planning and project management skills.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with and advise various internal clients at differing levels of seniority.
