Amicus (GetAmicus) is an AI legal co-pilot for individuals and businesses that don’t have access to big-firm resources—people with legal issues who are doing it themselves, small businesses without in-house counsel, and solo or small-firm lawyers with complex work and limited support. Amicus reads and explains legal documents in plain English, helps you organize your evidence, drafts materials, and walks you through your next steps. Every output is backed up by a verified Singapore case law corpus and is vetted by a citation verifier that removes any authority it cannot verify rather than flagging it and hoping someone will see it. The model is never trained on user data. Amicus is supposed to be the real legal work done in minutes for a fraction of traditional cost, the substantive layer of legal tech.
Role Description:
This is a full-time hybrid legal co-founder position, based in Singapore, with options to work remotely. You will be defining product and legal strategy and translating real Singapore legal workflows into AI capabilities that are accurate and reliable. You’ll be reviewing and testing product outputs for legal quality, researching case law and procedure, defining user journeys for individuals and businesses, and working directly with me on product design and prioritization day to day. You will also work with early users to gather feedback and improve legal prompts and playbooks and support go-to-market with clear messaging and demos. You will help foster relationships with law firms, bar groups, and ecosystem partners and help develop fundraising materials by articulating the legal and commercial case for the platform over time. e.
Requirements
- Strong Analytical Skills and legal reasoning ability, with the capacity to translate complex Singapore legal concepts into clear, structured workflows.
- Excellent Communication skills, including plain‑language writing, user education, and the ability to explain legal outcomes and product value to non‑lawyers.
- Proficiency in Sales and Marketing activities, such as engaging prospective users, supporting product demos, and contributing to growth and positioning strategies.
- Solid Research skills for case law, statutes, rules of court, and practical guidance, and for staying current with developments in legal tech and AI.
- A qualified lawyer in Singapore or a law degree is essential, with a strong grounding in Singapore law (litigation or advisory), and experience in commercial, SME, or consumer matters preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in legal technology, AI, or product design, with a willingness to work closely with engineers and iterate quickly based on user feedback.
- Comfort working in an early-stage startup environment, including owning decisions, handling ambiguity, and collaborating as a founding team member.
- High ethical standards.
