About the Role:
We are a dynamic and growing law firm seeking a skilled and motivated General Practice Attorney to join our legal team. You will be guided by our Senior Attorney in practice for 15 years. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a diverse caseload across Family Law matters (with some protective orders an and consumer protection), with a strong emphasis on courtroom appearances.
We’re seeking a detail-oriented attorney eager to grow under experienced leadership and take their legal career to the next level. This role requires someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, possesses strong litigation and advocacy skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality legal representation to a broad spectrum of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
– Represent clients in court hearings, particularly in family matters.
– Manage cases from intake through resolution, including legal research, discovery, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
– Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance to clients in emotionally charged or sensitive situations, especially in family law disputes.
– Negotiate settlements and plea agreements when appropriate.
– Maintain timely and thorough communication with clients and paralegals on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
– Strong litigation and courtroom experience; trial experience required.
– Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
– Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Maryland.
– Experience in family law, criminal defense, and/or consumer protection.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with strong organizational skills.
– Passion for advocacy and a strong ethical foundation.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $150.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
