The de la Garza Law Group, a Houston-based boutique plaintiff’s personal injury firm, is seeking a full-time, Spanish-fluent Paralegal/ Legal Assistant to join our team. This position works directly with attorneys and clients to manage personal injury matters from initial intake through resolution, serving as a trusted point of contact throughout the litigation process. Responsibilities include –

  • Communicating with clients in both English and Spanish to collect facts, provide updates, and guide them through each stage of their case.
  • Drafting and serving pleadings, discovery, discovery responses, medical summaries and demand packages
  • Assisting with trial preparation, trial binders and exhibits.
  • Calendaring and managing deadlines to keep cases on track.
  • Communicating with medical providers, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel and expert witnesses.
  • Scheduling depositions and hearings and helping prepare for both.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized case files in a busy litigation environment.
  • Having full command of relevant facts of cases to discuss with lead attorneys.
  • Conducting initial client intake – gathering facts, evaluating potential new cases and assisting with opening new files.

Ideal candidates must have –

  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English.
  • 2+ years of experience as a personal injury paralegal, legal assistant or case manager.
  • Strong writing, organization, and time management skills.
  • Undergraduate degree and/ or paralegal certificate.
  • Professional and client focused demeanor.
