Litigation Legal Assistant

Salary: Up to $80K (Based on Experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, edit, format, and proofread a variety of legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Coordinate workflow and delegate tasks to internal support teams, ensuring timely completion
  • Assist lawyers with litigation matters, including preparing pleadings, coordinating filings and service, and supporting hearings and trials
  • Manage calendars, court deadlines, and key dates, including scheduling discoveries, hearings, and client meetings
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic files for efficient document management and retrieval
  • Liaise with courts, external agencies, and clients; manage incoming calls, correspondence, and mail
  • Support administrative and financial processes, including time entry, billing coordination, and file openings
  • Provide general administrative support, including travel coordination, meeting logistics, and team assistance as needed

Qualifications

  • Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a litigation legal assistant role
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail with advanced proofreading, editing, and formatting skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow up on files with minimal supervision
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Flexibility to occasionally work overtime as required
