We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant/Entry-Level Paralegal who is dependable, proactive, caring, and eager to grow with our firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer the telephone and assist potential clients, current clients, and third parties in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Draft, review, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and other case-related materials.
  • Assist attorneys with file management, case preparation, and day-to-day legal matters.
  • Assist with probate and estate administration matters, including preparing and organizing petitions, inventories, claims, waivers, notices, and other probate documents.
  • Assist with estate planning matters, including preparation and organization of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents.
  • Assist with real estate transactions, including reviewing contracts, preparing closing documents, coordinating with title companies, and assisting with closing requirements.
  • Assist with personal injury matters, including organizing medical records, correspondence, client information, and other case documentation.
  • Conduct basic legal research and assist attorneys with gathering information relevant to cases.
  • Prepare and maintain case files, including electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Electronically file court documents and monitor filing confirmations and deadlines.
  • Assist with preparing documents and materials for court hearings, meetings, depositions, and closings.
  • Schedule meetings, hearings, court appearances, and client consultations.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, title companies, insurance companies, and other third parties.
  • Follow up with clients and third parties to obtain necessary documents and information.
  • Track deadlines and assist attorneys and paralegals in ensuring that important case and court deadlines are met.
  • Maintain confidentiality and properly handle sensitive client and case information.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, scanning, copying, mailing, and organizing documents.
  • Assist the Paralegal and attorneys with various tasks and special projects as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
  • Professional, compassionate, and client-focused demeanor.
  • Prior experience in probate, real estate, estate planning, or personal injury law is a plus but not required.
  • Prior legal assistant, paralegal, office, or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
