Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys with sophisticated estate planning and probate matters from inception through completion, maintaining organized client files/case documentation
- Prepare estate planning documents, probate pleadings, and related legal filings
- Assist with complex probate administration and trust administration
- Communicate professionally and empathetically with clients, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, financial advisors, and other professionals
- Assist with gift and estate tax planning matters
- Track deadlines and proactively manage case progress
- Participate in weekly case strategy meetings, contribute ideas for process improvements, and utilize legal technology software to efficiently manage workflows
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in estate planning and uncontested probate
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients with estates of $10M+ in assets
- Experience with complex estate planning and probate administration
- Knowledge of gift and estate tax planning
- Comfortable working with financial information and numerical data
- Resourceful with a solutions-oriented mindset and the confidence to ask questions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technology aptitude and ability to quickly learn new software platforms
Bonus Experience:
- Contested probate experience
- Experience preparing tax returns
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and financial modeling
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Experience with PracticePanther and/or Monday.com
