Compensation:
$70,000 – $90,000 including bonuses
Responsibilities:
Drafting Legal Documents – Prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other estate planning documents with great attention to detail, but under attorney supervision.
Recording and Managing Deeds – Draft and record deeds with the appropriate county offices, ensuring property transfers align with the client’s estate plan.
Client Meetings and Communication – Meet with clients to gather information, review documents, explain processes, and answer non-legal advice questions.
Case Management – Maintain organized client files, track deadlines, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Coordination with Team Members – Work closely with attorneys, administrative staff, and other team members to ensure each client’s estate plan is properly executed.
Document Execution and Notarization – Arrange for clients to sign documents properly, ensure notarization, and witness signatures as needed.
Client Follow-Up and Maintenance – Assist with ongoing client needs, including updating estate plans, funding trusts, and coordinating beneficiary designations.
Correspondence and Communication with Third Parties – Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to align estate plans with financial strategies.
Technology and Software Management – Utilize estate planning software, case management systems, and document automation tools to streamline workflows.
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum 3 years of estate planning drafting experience, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
Strong proficiency in drafting and preparing legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience with deed preparation and recording.
Ability to manage multiple client matters efficiently and meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to track case progress.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and professional correspondence.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and team members.
High level of diligence, accuracy, and attention to detail—this is the most critical quality for success in this role.
Preferred:
Experience using WealthCounsel or similar estate planning software for document automation.
Knowledge of the funding of trusts.
Familiarity with financial institutions, real estate transactions, and beneficiary designations related to estate planning.
Notary Public certification (or willingness to obtain one).
