Job Description
Hasbani & Light, P.C. is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our team in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and legal support to the firm’s attorneys and staff. This is an on-site role.
The Legal Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Incoming and outgoing mail
Scanning documents
Electronic filing
Assisting attorneys with legal research and document preparation
Drafting and filing legal documents
Scheduling and coordinating meetings and appointments
Answering and routing phone calls
Maintaining client files
Assisting with billing and invoicing
Assisting with other administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications
Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures: Candidates should have a basic understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
Research and writing skills: Candidates should have strong research and writing skills.
Attention to detail: Candidates should be detail-oriented and able to spot errors in documents.
Organizational skills: Candidates should be able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Communication skills: Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer skills: Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Time management skills: Candidates should be able to manage their time effectively and meet deadlines.
Interpersonal skills: Candidates should be able to work well with others and maintain a professional demeanor.
Relevant experience: Previous experience in a legal setting is preferred but not required.
