Role Description The Legal Assistant role at Job Connect is a full-time, on-site position based in Harare. The Legal Assistant will support legal operations by preparing and organizing legal documents, maintaining case files, and assisting with contract and policy reviews. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing administrative assistance to legal professionals, scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. The role also involves liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders, handling confidential information with discretion, and helping to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge of Law and familiarity with common legal procedures and terminology.
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, and organizing contracts, agreements, and other legal records.
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
- Demonstrated Administrative Assistance capabilities, including scheduling, filing, data entry, and general office support.
- Prior experience or training as a Legal Assistant, or in a similar legal support role, is highly advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, document management systems); familiarity with legal practice management tools is a plus.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Law, Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field is preferred.
