About the Position
We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Law Office Administrator / Paralegal to join our Boston based law firm.
This is a hands-on position that combines law office administration, attorney support, and paralegal responsibilities. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, interacting professionally with clients and outside contacts, and taking ownership of the firm’s day-to-day administrative needs.

Responsibilities
Law Office Administration
- Assist in managing day-to-day administrative operations of the office.
- Coordinate attorney calendars, meetings, appointments, and deadlines.
- Manage office supplies, vendors, equipment, and general office needs.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, packages, scanning, copying, and electronic filing.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper files.
- Maintain office procedures and help improve administrative systems and workflows.
- Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, vendors, courts, and other outside parties.
- Assist with general firm projects and other administrative matters as needed.
Paralegal / Legal Support
- Assist attorneys with preparation and organization of legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and other filings.
- Maintain case files and monitor important case deadlines.
- Assist with court filings, service of documents, and other procedural requirements.
- Prepare documents and exhibits for hearings, depositions, meetings, and trials.
- Conduct basic legal research and factual research as requested.
- Assist with discovery organization, document review, and production.
- Communicate with clients and third parties regarding administrative and case-related matters as directed by attorneys.
- Assist attorneys with other substantive legal work within the scope of the candidate’s experience and applicable law.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in a law firm or legal department.
- Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
- Comfort learning and using legal practice-management, document-management, billing, and electronic filing systems.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Professional, reliable, and service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.
Preferred:
- Paralegal certificate, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent legal experience.
- 3–5+ years of law-firm or legal-support experience.
- Experience with Massachusetts state and/or federal court procedures.
- Litigation, discovery, docketing, or case-management experience.
- Familiarity with legal research databases and electronic filing systems.
- Experience working in a small law firm or other environment where employees are expected to take ownership of a broad range of responsibilities.
Ideal Candidate

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $70,000–$82,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Candidates with substantial independent paralegal experience, strong Massachusetts litigation experience, or significant responsibility for office administration may be considered above the posted range.
