Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of drafting and filing documents through the Florida Court system. This role requires proficiency in Probate cases, Partition actions and Quiet Title actions. The Paralegal will assist attorneys in managing case files effectively and will involve direct client contact.
Responsibilities
General: Drafting retainer agreements; opening and closing files; assisting with client enquiries.
Probate: Head up our growing Probate department: intake and opening new Probate files; obtain documents needed from clients; initial draft of all probate documents, obtain signatures needed; file documents with Courts, follow up to confirm hearings are scheduled and client information and documents are in place; and filing closing documents with Court. Client interaction is required.
Litigation: Intake and opening new Partition, Quiet Title and other real estate related litigation matters (no landlord-tenant); obtain documents needed from clients; initial draft of all litigation documents, obtain signatures needed; file documents with Courts, follow up to confirm hearings are scheduled and client information and documents are in place; initial drafts of discovery demands and responses, scheduling depositions and following up for responses from discovery demands; and filing closing documents with Court. Client interaction is required.
Corporate: Intake and filing LLC and other entity formation with appropriate Department of State; Annual Report Filing; initial drafts of Operating/Shareholder Agreements and assistance on business sales and purchases;
Experience
Three or more years experience as a Probate Paralegal in the state of Florida.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail in proofreading documents.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
