An exciting opportunity for a newly qualified lawyer or those with up to 2 years’ PQE to join a growing in-house legal team at a high-growth fintech.
My client is a fast-paced fintech at the intersection of finance and innovation. With a growing product offering and increasing regulatory complexity, they’re looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to support both core legal work and operational execution.
This is an excellent role for someone looking to move in-house early, or for someone with prior in-house financial services experience, to gain practical commercial experience, and build strong foundational knowledge of fintech legal operations.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts (NDAs, supplier agreements, I.T contracts, etc.)
Assisting with regulatory compliance matters (e.g., FCA-related filings, tracking obligations, document prep)
Maintaining legal templates, contract logs, and filing systems
Supporting legal input on internal policies, terms and conditions, and customer documentation
Coordinating with internal stakeholders on legal workflows
Helping to manage legal inboxes and respond to ad hoc internal queries
Monitoring legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business, including horizon scanning for upcoming changes
Ideal Candidate
Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (NQ – 2 years’ PQE)
Trained at a reputable law firm, with seats in any of the following: commercial contracts, financial regulation, banking and finance, employment, data protection, corporate M&A
Detail-oriented with strong drafting, organisational, and administrative skills
A strong communicator with a proactive, can-do mindset
Interest in financial services, fintech, or consumer lending is a plus
