Position Overview
The Junior Civil Rights Investigator plays a critical role in the university’s response to reported compliance incidents, including those involving discrimination or harassment based on a protected status, retaliation and other student and employee misconduct and noncompliance with university policies and rules.
Responsibilities
- Conducting civil rights, employment, educational or compliance investigations
- Communicating confidential and sensitive information
- Communicating, developing and delivering presentations to small audiences
- Managing multiple tasks while simultaneously working with supervision
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or other advanced degree
- Experience conducting person-centered investigations
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work on highly delicate and confidential situations under time constraints and with multiple individuals, departments and agencies
- Knowledge of federal and state anti-discrimination laws, including Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, Section 504/the ADA, FERPA, the Violence Against Women Act, HIPAA and others (including implementation thereof)
- Experience conducting investigations within higher education environments
- Familiarity with University of Idaho policies and procedures
- Knowledge and experience using case management software (e.g. Symplicity Advocate)

Pay Range: $21.85 per hour or higher depending on education and experience.
