The Midtown Group is actively recruiting for two Sr. Employment Investigations Analysts on behalf of our largest transportation client. These are two-year long consulting roles that require a medium to heavy amount of travel.
Ideally, candidates will be based in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, or the Northeast Corridor.
These exciting assignments support the implementation and administration of our client's employment investigation processes, applying research and analysis to guide case handling and outcomes, and serve as the primary liaisons to the organization's external investigation support.
These engagements will offer the chance to work on complex and sensitive internal disputes, including complaints of discrimination and harassment, and count on the hired individuals to use best-practice investigatory procedures for a transportation icon with excellent leadership and 22,100 employees.
Essential Functions
Support the management of employee complaints intake and administration, including performing an initial assessment to evaluate severity, scope, and assign cases accordingly, while performing research and analysis to inform proper handling and outcomes.
Serve as the primary liaison Amtrak’s external investigations support, delivering guidance,
escalation support, and the information needed to ensure thorough, timely, and high-quality
investigations.
Analyze complaint activity, identify trends, and evaluate relevant data points to support informed
decision-making and continuous improvement.
Prepare and present summaries and reports on complaint trends, case outcomes, and key
insights to internal stakeholders.
Conduct thorough, impartial, and timely investigations in accordance with established
investigative procedures and best practices, while maintaining complete and accurate records
Education Requirements
- Required: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Alternative: An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and progressively responsible work experience is widely accepted.
Experience Level
- 3-5+ years: Mid-to-senior level related work experience.
- Depending on the specific role focus, 3+ years of advanced data analysis or 5+ years of federal criminal investigative experience is required.
Ideal Background & Competencies
- Labor & Disciplinary focus: Ideal candidates possess a strong grasp of corporate disciplinary processes, labor agreements, and experience interfacing with union/labor representatives and legal counsel.
- Criminal focus: Requires a background in Federal criminal and civil law, with preferred completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Basic and Advanced Criminal Investigator courses.
- Analytical/Fraud focus: Requires strong quantitative skills with hands-on experience using advanced data analytics, machine learning, or crime analysis tools
