Job Purpose
Provide legal advice and support on international employment and labor law matters across the Group’s overseas markets. The role will work closely with business leaders, HR teams, and external counsel to manage employment-related legal risks and support the Group’s international operations and expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on employment and labor law matters across multiple jurisdictions where the Group operates or plans to expand.
- Review and advise on employment contracts, HR policies, employee handbooks, compensation and benefits, working hours, leave, disciplinary actions, and termination.
- Provide legal support on workforce restructuring, redundancy, dismissal, organizational changes, and employee transfers.
- Advise on matters involving expatriates, international assignments, secondments, work permits, and cross-border employment arrangements.
- Handle and advise on employment disputes, employee grievances, internal investigations, whistleblowing, harassment, discrimination, and code-of-conduct violations.
- Assess employment-related legal risks in new market entry, investments, M&A transactions, business restructuring, and corporate expansion.
- Work closely with HR and business teams to ensure local employment practices comply with applicable laws and Group policies.
- Coordinate and manage local external counsel across different jurisdictions on complex employment matters.
- Monitor developments in employment legislation and provide practical guidance on potential legal and business impact.
- Develop and standardize employment legal templates, policies, guidelines, and compliance frameworks for international operations.
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal solutions and support senior management on sensitive employment matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable university in Vietnam or overseas.
- Qualified lawyer or holder of a practicing certificate is preferred.
- Ideally 7+ years of legal experience, with strong specialization in employment and labor law.
- Prior experience with an international law firm or a leading law firm advising multinational clients is highly preferred.
- Strong experience advising multinational corporations, large enterprises, or clients operating across multiple jurisdictions.
- Hands-on experience in complex employment matters such as termination, restructuring, workforce reduction, employee disputes, internal investigations, and employment policies.
- Ability to research and work with employment laws across different jurisdictions and effectively coordinate with local counsel.
- Excellent English, with strong capability in legal drafting, advisory work, negotiation, and communication with international stakeholders.
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to translate legal requirements into practical business solutions.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple sensitive matters simultaneously.
