* Duties and Responsibilities:

*** Upon indictment, prepares witness lists for entry into Judicial Dialog and CJIS in order for subpoenas to be generated
* Contacts law enforcement agencies for submission of evidence into our computer systems
* Reviews submitted evidence to include jail calls, Coban videos and 9-1-1 calls; prepares time-stamped transcripts when appropriate; and requests necessary red actions;
* Prepares Discovery acknowledgements and Motions regarding extraneous offenses
* Contacts victims &/or witnesses; submits investigative requests for them if necessary
* Assists with trial preparation including assisting attorneys with victim/witness interviews; prepares trial exhibits and notebooks
* Assists attorneys during Docket and Court proceedings; participates in Court proceedings when authorized with a 3L student bar card
* Prepares weekly statistic sheets.

* Minimum Qualifications:

*** Attendance at an accredited college or university with an anticipated Doctorate of Jurisprudence.
* Knowledge of basic legal terminology; knowledge of basic office procedures.
* Skill in coordinating multiple tasks; skill in developing research methods and performing legal research;
* Ability to accurately enter data and file information; ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees and the general public.
* Physical requirements include lifting/carrying 5-10 lbs. occasionally; visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computer, keyboard, and basic office equipment.
* Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation from the Bexar Criminal District Attorney’s Office.

*** Working conditions are in an office/courtroom environment.
* Subject to handling, sitting, walking, standing, bending, reaching and twisting to perform the essential functions.
