DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As In-House Legal Counsel, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing legal advice on corporate, commercial, GDPR, and data protection matters
  • Ensuring the Group’s companies comply with GDPR and applicable data protection laws and regulations
  • Acting as the main point of contact for privacy and data protection matters across the Group
  • Conducting GDPR awareness and refresher training sessions
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, corporate documents, and internal policies
  • Supporting corporate governance and day-to-day legal operations
  • Conducting legal and regulatory research and providing practical legal guidance
  • Liaising with external counsel, advisors, consultants, and regulatory authorities across various jurisdictions
  • Coordinating and managing external legal advice and compliance projects
  • Assisting with risk management, internal compliance reviews, and ad hoc legal matters
  • Supporting various corporate and operational projects as required
  • Provide legal guidance on GDPR compliance and data protection regulations relevant to the company’s operations.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to human resources and shipping activities.
  • Ensure that all company policies comply with applicable legal standards, including privacy and data security protocols.
  • Assist in handling legal disputes or issues that may arise within the scope of the company's operations.
  • Stay updated on legal developments affecting data protection, GDPR, and shipping legislation to advise the company accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement and maintain GDPR data protection measures and best practices.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Solid relevant experience within a law firm and/or in-house legal department
  • Strong experience in corporate and commercial law
  • Solid expertise in GDPR, data protection, and privacy matters
  • Experience advising on GDPR regulatory compliance
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Strong commercial awareness and business-oriented mindset
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced international environment
