The Role
We’re hiring In-House Counsel to sit at the center of a company that is, itself, reshaping how legal work gets done. You’ll advise Legaline on the legal and regulatory questions that come with operating a licensed-lawyer marketplace across 33 jurisdictions, while helping shape the compliance backbone that lets clients and lawyers transact with confidence.
This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role inside a platform built by lawyers, for lawyers, where your counsel directly shapes the product experience of thousands of legal professionals across the region.
What You’ll Do
- Advise on regulatory matters across UAE federal law, the emirates, DIFC, ADGM, and Legaline’s growing footprint across free zones
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, platform terms, and lawyer and client contracts
- Own compliance frameworks for licensing, data protection, and payment-related regulation across the jurisdictions Legaline operates in
- Partner with product and engineering to build legal and compliance logic directly into the platform, including how AI-assisted drafting and research tools are positioned and disclosed
- Manage outside counsel relationships where specialized or cross-border expertise is needed
- Monitor regulatory developments across the UAE’s legal technology and marketplace landscape and translate them into practical guidance for the business
- Support corporate governance, IP protection, and risk matters as Legaline scales across the region and beyond
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified lawyer with 3 to 6 years of experience, ideally including in-house or platform, marketplace, fintech, or professional services environments
- Strong grounding in UAE law, with familiarity across DIFC and ADGM frameworks a strong plus
- Fluent English required; Arabic is a strong advantage
- Comfortable translating complex legal and regulatory questions into clear, actionable guidance for a fast-moving product and business team
- Genuine interest in legal technology and how AI is changing the practice of law
- Organized, pragmatic, and able to manage multiple workstreams independently
- Based in the UAE or willing to relocate to Dubai
Nice to Have
- Experience advising a two-sided marketplace, SaaS, or fintech platform
- Exposure to legal technology, AI governance, or data protection regulation
- Prior experience working alongside licensed professionals in a regulated marketplace context
What We Offer
- A seat at the table of a fast-growing, AI-native LegalTech company
- Direct influence over how legal and compliance are built into the product itself
- An ambitious team headquartered in Dubai, building for the region and beyond
- Competitive compensation package
