In-House Capital Markets / Structured Finance Lawyer — Dublin
I'm working with a fast-growing international finance business that's building out its legal capability in Dublin, and they're looking for a transactional lawyer to embed directly with the deal teams.
This isn't a back-office advisory seat. You'd be the lawyer on the desk — close to origination, hands on the documents, shaping and closing financings as they happen rather than reviewing them after the fact. It's a role for someone who enjoys the pace of live transactions and wants real ownership of the legal side of deals.
The role
- Sit alongside the investment and origination teams, negotiating financings off the firm's own documentation
- Own documentation quality and deal compliance end-to-end, while agreeing terms directly with internal stakeholders and counterparties
- Coordinate with risk, credit and compliance colleagues, and manage external counsel where needed
You'll likely have
- Around 2+ years in transactional finance — structured finance, securitisation, or loan/receivables work — ideally trained at a strong firm
- Exposure to a spread of financing structures (repo, stock lending, total return swaps and similar)
- A working understanding of what rating agencies look for on rated debt
- Confidence drafting and negotiating across the full life of a deal, from term sheet through to funding
- A commercial head — someone who frames legal issues around the business outcome and offers a way forward, not just a risk flag
- Eligibility to act as in-house counsel in Ireland
Irish or broader EU transactional/regulatory experience is a real plus, though not essential.
What's on the table A competitive package with the usual benefits (health, dental, vision, life cover, generous leave) and a seat in a sharp, deal-driven team based centrally in Dublin. One thing to flag early: this is a fully office-based role, so it'll suit someone who values being in the room.
