Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Immigration Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple cases, and experience preparing immigration applications and supporting attorneys throughout the legal process. This position requires professionalism, accuracy, and a commitment to providing excellent client service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file a variety of immigration petitions and applications, including family-based petitions, adjustment of status applications, naturalization applications, employment authorization requests, and other immigration filings.
- Gather, organize, and review supporting documentation from clients.
- Draft legal forms, correspondence, declarations, and other immigration-related documents for attorney review.
- Maintain case files and ensure all client records are accurate, organized, and up to date.
- Monitor case deadlines and USCIS processing updates.
- Communicate with clients regarding case status, required documents, and appointment scheduling.
- Conduct client intake interviews and collect relevant information.
- Prepare filing packages for submission to USCIS, EOIR, NVC, or U.S. consulates, as applicable.
- Track receipt notices, biometrics appointments, requests for evidence (RFEs), and case decisions.
- Assist attorneys in preparing clients for interviews and hearings.
- Communicate professionally with government agencies, clients, and third parties.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all ethical and legal standards.
- Perform general administrative and case management duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an immigration paralegal or legal assistant preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. immigration procedures and forms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Experience with family-based immigration, removal defense, humanitarian applications, or employment-based immigration is a plus.
- Familiarity with USCIS, EOIR, CEAC, and online filing systems.
