As part of the Office of the General Counsel and Board Secretariat, you will advise on various labor and employment matters, manage disputes, and ensure compliance. This position focuses on delivering proactive legal advice, drafting essential documentation, and training university staff on key legal topics related to employment practices and dispute resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice on employment matters and workplace accommodations
• Advise on employment-related disputes and litigation processes
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings and settlements
• Ensure compliance through expert counsel and risk assessment
• Facilitate training on evolving legal and compliance subjects
Requirements:
• LL.B, J.D., or equivalent law degree required
• Minimum three years post-call experience with labor law expertise
• Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario
• Strong analytical and drafting skills essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
