Volunteer Legal Professional – Human Rights Committee
Valley Educational Associates, Inc. is seeking an attorney or other qualified legal professional to serve as a volunteer member of our Human Rights Committee.
The Human Rights Committee promotes, safeguards, and protects the human dignity and legal rights of individuals served by Valley Educational Associates, Inc., consistent with the standards of the Department of Developmental Services. Committee members review agency practices and protocols to help ensure that the rights and well-being of individuals are protected.
Ideal candidates may include:
- Attorneys
- Paralegals
- Law students
- Other legal professionals with an interest in human rights, disability rights, and advocacy
The position requires attendance at a majority of committee meetings, which are held quarterly during evening hours. Meetings are currently being held remotely.
