Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Legal Advisory & Risk Management
- Act as a trusted legal advisor to the CEO, CFO, and senior management on corporate, commercial, investment, M&A, and product-related matters.
- Lead enterprise legal risk management, develop the Legal Risk Register, and provide practical, business-oriented legal solutions.
- Manage complex legal matters, disputes, external counsel, and regulatory investigations.
Data Protection, AI & Regulatory Compliance
- Lead the Company’s compliance with data protection, AI governance, cybersecurity, and emerging technology regulations.
- Oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), cross-border data transfers, data governance, and incident response.
- Conduct legal assessments for new products, APIs, and AI solutions, ensuring compliance while supporting innovation.
Licensing & Regulatory Affairs
- Manage business licenses and regulatory filings across the Group.
- Serve as the primary legal liaison with government authorities and regulators.
- Monitor regulatory developments and provide recommendations on legislative changes affecting the business.
Corporate Governance & Commercial Legal Support
- Oversee corporate governance matters for the Group, including Board and Shareholders’ meetings, corporate records, delegated authorities, and disclosure obligations.
- Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of complex commercial contracts, particularly those involving technology, cloud services, AI, data, and international transactions.
- Partner closely with business teams to balance legal compliance with commercial objectives.
Compliance, Legal Operations & Team Leadership
- Develop and enhance compliance frameworks, internal policies, and Legal Operations through technology and AI-enabled solutions.
- Deliver legal and compliance training across the organization.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Legal & Compliance team while fostering a proactive, solution-oriented culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Law. Bar admission, LL.M., or certifications such as CIPP/A, CIPM, DPO, or ISO 27001/27701 are highly preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in legal, compliance, or private practice, including 3+ years in a managerial or senior leadership role.
- Strong expertise in at least two of the following areas:
- Data Protection, Technology & AI
- Banking, Financial Services & Securities
- Corporate Law & M&A
- International Commercial Contracts
- Solid understanding of corporate, investment, commercial, data protection, cybersecurity, and technology laws.
- Experience working with regulators and government authorities is an advantage.
- Excellent legal English with strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate legal risks into practical business decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Comfortable leveraging Legal Tech and AI tools to improve legal operations and business efficiency.
