Job Overview
Do you enjoy being a Family Lawyer? Have you been practicing Family Law in New Jersey on a full-time basis for at least 3 years?
We are an entrepreneurial Divorce and Family law firm that is on track for aggressive growth. We need an experienced Family Law Attorney to join our team and work directly with the owner and attorneys to support the team and help our clients.
We want to be known for helping our clients and protecting them during their divorce, so they don’t get screwed. We want our clients to feel safe and assured that their case is in the right hands. We are growing fast, and we need a Family Law Attorney who can hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal handholding.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a large caseload
2. Manage full-case responsibilities from inception through final resolution
3. Regularly consult with clients, the court and adversaries as needed to effectively move cases forward and to settlement
4. Effectively negotiate settlements
5. Interview clients for hearings or deposition
6. Prepare for and attend mediation, hearings, and trials
7. Prepare questions for witnesses
8. Review discovery requests and responses and prepare applicable objections
9. Develop a strategic approach and provide leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants
10. Work as part of a team with all levels of experiences
11. Cultivate relationships with the firms existing and future clients
12. Monthly case review with managing attorney to review progression of case and strategy
If you have the following qualities, you may be the attorney for our firm:
– Strong writing skills – especially when it comes to Motions
– Amazing attention to detail
– Efficient with calendars, e-mail, spreadsheets, word processing, and the internet
– “No Drama”
– Triage and prioritize response to emails and phone calls
– Ability to change gears quickly
– Willing to jump in to help when needed
This is a job where you are expected to manage a caseload and bill the amount of time expected. There is an opportunity for bonus compensation for those who can demonstrate their profitability.
