Spragins, Barnett & Cobb, PLC is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Jackson, Tennessee. We offer a professional, friendly, and team-focused work environment and are looking for someone who takes pride in producing quality work and helping cases move forward.
The successful candidate will support attorneys in civil litigation, probate matters, and estate litigation.
Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, discovery responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper case files
- Review and summarize records, discovery materials, deposition transcripts, and other evidence
- Track court deadlines, litigation calendars, and attorney schedules
- Communicate with clients, attorneys, court personnel, experts, witnesses, and other parties
- Assist with depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
- Prepare exhibits, witness lists, trial notebooks, and other hearing or trial materials
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed
- File documents in state and federal courts
- Assist attorneys in keeping cases organized and progressing efficiently
Qualifications
- At least three years of litigation paralegal experience
- Well-rounded civil litigation experience
- Strong legal writing, proofreading, and document-preparation skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities
- Familiarity with Tennessee court procedures is preferred
- Experience with Clio is preferred
- Paralegal certification or a degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field is preferred but not required
Schedule
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- In-person work is preferred
