Boutique Bankruptcy Law Firm | Full-Time OR Contract Position
We are a boutique bankruptcy law firm seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Case Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience preparing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases and can independently prepare accurate, complete petitions and schedules with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and draft Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, and related documents
- Accurately calculate and analyze client income
- Complete and understand the Chapter 7 Means Test
- Analyze household income, expenses, deductions, and applicable exemptions
- Prepare Chapter 13 cases, including plan calculations and treatment of secured and unsecured debts
- Review client financial information for accuracy, completeness, and inconsistencies
- Identify missing or inconsistent information before submission
- Communicate with attorneys and staff regarding case issues and required documentation
- Meet strict deadlines and maintain a 24–48 hour case preparation turnaround time
Required Qualifications
- Prior bankruptcy case preparation experience is required
- Strong experience preparing both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases
- Thorough understanding of the Chapter 7 Means Test and income calculations
- Ability to analyze financial documents, pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, and other client records
- Strong understanding of bankruptcy schedules and required disclosures
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to consistently meet a 24–48 hour turnaround
- Experience with Jubilee bankruptcy software is preferred, but not required
Position Structure
This position is available as either:
- Full-Time Employee OR
- Contract Case Preparer
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and whether the position is full-time or contract.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and take ownership of the case preparation process. This is not an entry-level position. The successful candidate should already understand bankruptcy case preparation and be comfortable working with Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases from intake through completion.
Our firm uses Jubilee bankruptcy software for case preparation. Experience with Jubilee is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has strong bankruptcy case preparation experience.
Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
