Aimee Melich Law is seeking a bilingual paralegal to assist with Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy cases. This is an excellent opportunity for someone dedicated to helping clients navigate the bankruptcy process and eager to work alongside a focused, experienced attorney in a small, boutique law firm. Compensation is based on experience. Our office is a relaxed and easy going environment, but we are serious about our work and our heavy caseload. We strive to help our clients and make sure they have individualized attention and hand-holding along the way. The firm does handle some real estate and civil litigation but the majority of the work is in Bankruptcy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with preparing and filing bankruptcy petitions, motions, and related court documents.
- Communicate with clients regarding case updates and deficiencies for confirmation.
- Liaise with clients, creditors, and court personnel.
- Manage bankruptcy files, including drafting and filing required schedules, statements, and other documentation.
- Provide support during bankruptcy hearings and mediations.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all bankruptcy-related documents.
- Manage court dockets and correspondence.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Bankruptcy Paralegal.
- Strong phone communication skills and a professional demeanor with clients and staff.
- Thorough knowledge of bankruptcy laws and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Bestcase and Clio is a plus.
