We value our people and believe that a positive office culture is central to the way we work and to the service we provide to our clients. We are now seeking an experienced Legal Executive or Legal Secretary to join our team and provide support across our litigation and property departments.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide legal and administrative support to a busy litigation and property team. This is a varied role suited to someone who is organised, accurate, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced but friendly office environment.
The role would suit a Legal Executive, experienced Legal Secretary, or legal support professional with previous experience in litigation and/or property matters. The successful candidate should be confident dealing with clients, managing files, preparing legal documents, and supporting solicitors in the day-to-day running of active files.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
• Supporting solicitors and fee earners in a busy litigation and property practice.
• Preparing, formatting, amending, and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, contracts, and other file documents.
• Managing litigation and property files from opening through to completion or close.
• Liaising with clients, counsel, courts, barristers’ clerks, banks, estate agents, government bodies, and other solicitors.
• Managing diaries, appointments, court dates, limitation dates, completion dates, and key file deadlines.
• Assisting with the preparation of briefs, books of pleadings, discovery documents, court documents, and related litigation materials.
• Assisting with conveyancing and property transactions, including contracts, requisitions, closing documents, searches, stamping, registration, and post-completion matters.
• Handling telephone calls, emails, and client queries in a professional and helpful manner.
• Maintaining electronic and hard copy files in accordance with office procedures.
• Assisting with billing, file management, and general office administration.
• Ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and a high standard of client care at all times.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing positively to the firm’s team-focused culture.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience as a Legal Executive, Legal Secretary, or legal support professional.
• Experience supporting litigation and/or property files.
• A good understanding of litigation processes, court documentation, and deadlines.
• Familiarity with property and conveyancing procedures would be a strong advantage.
• Excellent document preparation, typing, formatting, and proofreading skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A professional, friendly, and client-focused approach.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
• The ability to work well both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
• Discretion and a clear understanding of confidentiality.
