JOB SUMMARY
The County Clerk Recorder’s Office is seeking two Deputy Clerk Recorders to join their team. Under general supervision, a Deputy Clerk Recorder reviews, records, indexes, files and scans legal documents, and assists the public with researching and filing papers in the County Clerk-Recorder’s Office.
Vacancies may fill at either level I, II, or III level. Candidates need only to apply once; all applications will be screened for the minimum requirements at the highest level they are qualified for. In the case of higher level vacancies, names from the eligible list will be referred based on qualifying level. For lower level vacancies, higher level candidates on the eligible list may not be excluded from being referred.

Deputy Clerk Recorder I
Annual Salary: $35,880 -$49,524
Deputy Clerk Recorder II
Annual Salary: $39,977 – $55,244
Deputy Clerk Recorder III
Annual Salary: $42,182 – $58,448
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
Deputy Clerk Recorder I
One year of clerical experience involving land title work is preferred; basic computer knowledge; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Deputy Clerk Recorder II
Two years of experience in land title work or one year as a Deputy Clerk-Recorder I; or any education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Deputy Clerk Recorder III
Three years of experience in land title or two years as a Deputy Clerk-Recorder II; or any education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Essential Duties require the following physical skills and work requirements:
Requires the ability to maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of exercising sound judgment and rational thinking under varied circumstances; the ability to exert a small amount of physical effort in sedentary to light work involving moving from one area of the office to another; ability to see; ability to hear and communicate orally; requires sufficient hand/eye coordination to perform semi-skilled repetitive movements, such as using a computer, typing, filing, data entry and/or use of calculators, ten-key adding machine, or use of other office equipment or supplies; involves VDT exposure.
Disaster Service Workers:
All Sutter County employees are designated as Disaster Service Workers during a proclaimed emergency and may be required to perform certain emergency services at the direction of the department and/or County.
License or Certificate:
This classification may require a valid California driver’s license.
