About Odegard Law

Odegard Law is a fast-paced, client-focused personal injury law firm based in Tukwila, WA. We are dedicated to standing up for individuals who have been seriously injured due to car accidents and other incidents. Our mission is to fight for justice while delivering compassionate, high-quality support to those who need it most. We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our growing team and start building a career in the legal field.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to begin a legal career with direct mentorship from an experienced attorney and paralegal. You’ll play a key role in supporting daily operations while learning how to navigate the legal system and advocate for real people in need. Spanish fluency is essential, and we value strong organizational skills, reliability, and a service-minded approach. This is an “in-person” position in the office. Promotions may allow for regular work-from-home opportunities based on performance. Ideally, we would be looking for someone who can commit to a 40-hour work week. However, competitive applicants who can only work part-time hours are encouraged to apply.

What We’re Looking For

In this role, a positive, patient, and client-focused attitude is just as important as administrative ability. Many of our clients are going through some of the hardest moments of their lives—recovering from serious injuries, unable to work, or dealing with family and financial disruptions. At the same time, our office regularly goes up against insurance companies and defense law firms.

We’re looking for someone who can maintain professionalism, empathy, and resilience, delivering calm, clear, and respectful support. Your ability to communicate with compassion while staying organized and solution-oriented will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scan, organize, and maintain digital and physical case files
  • Answer office main phone, and direct calls to attorneys and paralegals
  • Prepare and send outgoing mail; manage and sort incoming correspondence
  • Communicate with clients (frequently in Spanish) via phone, email, and text
  • Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document preparation and tracking
  • Enter and manage case data in Filevine (legal software – training provided)
  • Provide general office support to attorneys and staff
  • Send medical records requests on behalf of clients to medical facilities
  • Send request for final billing amount to medical facilities
  • Send letters and emails to insurance companies, and follow up regularly to confirm receipt
  • Capable of managing and implementing follow-up strategies to obtain documents (as trained) without needing to be prompted by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (required)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic office equipment
  • Friendly, professional, and customer service-oriented demeanor
  • Able to stay composed and responsive in emotional or high-pressure situations
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred
  • No prior legal experience required – we will train the right candidate

What We Offer

  • $16 – $20/hour starting pay
  • Opportunity for promotion and bonus pay
  • Paid 90-day probationary period to ensure a strong mutual fit
  • Hands-on training and one-on-one mentorship
  • Exposure to meaningful legal work and client advocacy
  • Supportive, team-oriented work environment
  • Long-term opportunities for growth and advancement
