2. About the Opportunity:

The Employee Relations Specialist role is designed to support a focused team by managing a broad range of employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations, and terminations. This position contributes by ensuring consistent, proactive handling of employee issues while building leadership capability to address challenges early and effectively. The role involves close collaboration with HR, Legal, and business leaders to identify root causes, generate actionable insights, and align employee relations activities with broader organizational goals.

3. Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of employee relations cases within the designated team

• Conduct or support investigations into policy violations, conflicts, or misconduct

• Guide performance management processes including documentation, corrective actions, and terminations

• Support involuntary separations with attention to risk mitigation and organizational values

• Partner with Employee Relations supervision to ensure consistent case handling aligned with enterprise practices

• Collaborate with senior HR Business Partners and Legal on high-risk or escalated cases

• Coach managers on early and effective management of behavior and performance issues

• Facilitate targeted training for leaders to improve management of employee performance and conduct

• Analyze case data to identify trends, risk areas, and provide insights and recommendations

• Communicate findings to HR leadership and business leaders focusing on root causes and business impact

• Maintain accurate case documentation, track timelines, and ensure compliance with policies and legal requirements

• Review timecards for adherence to travel time policy and identify discrepancies

• Support additional investigations, data analysis, or special projects during non-peak periods as needed

4. Requirements:

• Bachelor''s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

• 3-5 years of HR experience including at least 2 years in employee relations with direct case management

• Experience managing performance issues, corrective actions, and investigations

• Strong knowledge of employment law, workplace policies, and HR best practices

• Experience collaborating with Legal and senior HR leaders

• Excellent judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information

• Ability to identify root causes and communicate insights to business audiences

• Comfortable managing ambiguity and influencing without formal authority

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and leader support

• Willingness to travel up to 10%

Preferred:

• Experience supporting teams requiring high-touch employee relations support

• Ability to balance empathy with accountability

• Skilled in delivering training and coaching to managers

• Continuous learning mindset for improving employee relations practices

• Resides within commuting distance to the organization’s headquarters

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The compensation for this role is $67,000 to $90,000 annually

• Actual salaries vary based on qualifications and skills

• Base salary is part of a total compensation package including health, vision, and dental insurance, accident and life insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and education reimbursement
