Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked global law firm seeking a 2nd to 3rd year Emerging Companies and Venture Capital Associate to join its New York NY office.
This is a corporate role focused on advising high growth technology businesses through the full company lifecycle, with an emphasis on venture capital financings and day to day strategic counseling for founders and fast scaling teams.
The firm offers a sophisticated, collaborative platform with broad sector depth across technology and innovation, and the resources to support clients from early stage formation through later stage financings and beyond. The New York team works closely with colleagues across offices, providing coordinated support on transactions that scale with client needs.
The Opportunity
You will support emerging company clients on corporate governance, commercial and strategic matters, and venture financings. The work includes assisting with financing documents and diligence, coordinating deal processes, and partnering closely with senior lawyers to deliver practical advice to founders, investors, and in house legal teams. The role is based in office five days per week.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a 2nd to 3rd year Emerging Companies and Venture Capital Associate with:
- 2 to 3 years of corporate law experience with meaningful exposure to emerging companies and venture capital financings
- Strong drafting skills and comfort managing core deal workstreams such as diligence, closing sets, and ancillary documents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a client service mindset
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team oriented, in office environment

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role is $235,000 to $260,000, depending on class year, experience and other relevant factors.
