Barrow-in-Furness (with Kendal court and police station rota) Join a Respected and Supportive Criminal Defence Team We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Criminal Duty Solicitor to join a busy and well-established team covering Barrow-in-Furness and Kendal. This is an excellent opportunity for a duty accredited solicitor with at least 12 months’ criminal law experience who is looking to build their career within a progressive and employee-owned firm.
The Role As a Criminal Duty Solicitor, you will represent and advise clients across a broad range of criminal matters, providing high-quality legal support at police stations and courts. You will play a key role within the team, delivering excellent client care while managing your caseload efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities Criminal Duty Solicitor to represent and advise clients on a wide range of criminal law matters Attend police stations and courts as part of the Duty Solicitor Scheme Manage caseloads effectively using the firm’s case management system Deliver exceptional standards of client care and communication Participate in the out-of-hours police station rota Promote the firm’s wider legal services where appropriate About You Duty Solicitor accreditation and eligibility for duty solicitor schemes A minimum of 12 months’ experience in criminal law Strong organisational and case management skills Excellent communication and client service abilities A proactive, professional and team-focused approach
