About The Opportunity
We're seeking a part-time Corporate Governance Officer to provide high‑quality governance and secretariat support and help Energy Safe meet its statutory and corporate governance obligations.
Working under the direction of the Corporate Secretary, the role supports effective decision‑making through coordination of governance processes, preparation of committee documentation, maintenance of governance records and support for compliance requirements. You'll work closely with senior leaders and internal stakeholders to promote strong governance, transparency and accountability.
Required
This is a part‑time role (minimum 3 days per week), with flexible working arrangements across the week. Availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays is required. You will contribute by:
- Providing high‑quality secretariat support to governance committees, including coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, collating papers, taking minutes and tracking actions.
- Acting as a central point of contact for governance and secretariat matters, providing clear advice on processes, timelines and documentation requirements.
- Reviewing committee papers and providing feedback to ensure they meet governance, quality and submission standards.
- Maintaining key governance registers, including Authorised Officer and Delegation registers.
- Managing accurate records and information systems to support transparency, auditability and record‑keeping obligations.
- Monitoring actions, resolutions and compliance requirements, and escalating risks or issues as appropriate.
- Supporting continuous improvement of governance processes, templates and practices.
- Providing back‑up secretariat support during periods of leave or as required by the Corporate Secretary.
To Be Successful, You'll Have
- A qualification in governance, business administration, public administration, law or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing governance, secretariat or committee support in a complex organisation.
- Strong written communication skills, with experience preparing agendas, minutes, reports and briefing material for senior stakeholders.
- Well‑developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A sound understanding of governance principles, compliance and accountability frameworks (public sector experience is desirable).
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, service‑focused approach when working with stakeholders.
- Proven administrative capability, including records management and data governance.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.
