Real Estate Counsel

Community Healthcare Trust Inc. (NYSE: CHCT), a dynamic, fast-growing, real estate company in Franklin, Tennessee is seeking a full-time, experienced Real Estate Counsel. The ideal candidate will have:

· 3-10+ years of commercial real estate law experience with a focus on leasing, Landlord-Tenant matters, property management and brokerage agreements, acquisitions, due diligence and contract negotiation, preferably in a real estate management company, a real estate investment trust, healthcare company and/or a law firm; healthcare real estate experience a plus

· 4-year college degree and law degree

· Member in good standing with the Tennessee bar or ability to register as an in-house counsel or become licensed in Tennessee

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational and planning skills with the capacity to handle a large volume of complex matters under strict deadlines

· Strong communication skills and a strong team player with a focus on customer service for both internal and external stakeholders

· Self-motivated, detail-oriented and independent worker

· Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel

· Yardi experience a plus

· Experience working in a SOX 404 compliant environment a plus

Responsibilities may include:

· Manage and represent the Company in commercial real estate transactions, including land use and general real estate matters, leasing and other complex real estate agreements, Landlord-Tenant matters, compliance requirements, and contractual obligations

· Draft, negotiate and finalize a high volume of complex real estate leases, lease proposals and LOIs, subleases and related agreements within tight deadlines with a focus on healthcare facilities and tenants

· Draft and review ancillary real estate documents (amendments, assignments, terminations, easements, license agreements, property management agreements, NDAs, MSAs, brokerage agreements, SNDAs, estoppels, etc.) and advise on lease updates and real estate legal matters

· Work closely with Asset Management and Accounting teams to handle post lease execution management issues and Landlord-Tenant relationships; effectively and promptly negotiate resolution of claims

· Draft, negotiate and finalize real estate purchase and sale agreements, as needed

· Review, as needed, due diligence items, including leases, service contracts, organizational documents, environmental site assessments, title commitments, ALTA surveys, CC&Rs, easements and handle closing or post-closing matters when applicable

· Act as critical subject matter expert for real estate legal questions; manage CHCT’s roster of local outside counsel across the country

· Collaborate with Asset Management team members focused on marketing, leasing, daily operations and acquisition onboarding

· Collaborate with Accounting and other internal teams at CHCT

· Perform ad hoc projects in conjunction with other team members

· Assist in establishing and maintaining an effective and efficient control environment

Compensation commensurate with experience with significant alignment of interest through elective equity compensation program.
