As a Contract Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals, develop your skills, and grow your career supporting our Legal Department.
This is a full-time position within the Legal department. As part of the Legal team, you will perform a range of duties to include preparing and reviewing legal documents, research, and overseeing the department’s records management system.
Your Mission/Job Functions
• Review and negotiate a wide of array of contracts to include NDA's, terms & conditions for equipment sales, rentals & loans of equipment, consultation, purchasing & aftermarket services, amongst others to identify legal risks and business considerations as it pertains to various business opportunities.
• Negotiate, draft, and edit contracts to align with organizational goals and legal requirements, collaborating with outside counsel as necessary.
• Maintain current knowledge & track developments and changes in contracting methods and various laws (Uniform Commercial Code), and maintain familiarity with FAR, DFAR, and ITAR and other applicable federal regulations.
• Manage contracts and ensure timely and proper administration.
• Collaborate with customers on contractual and business-related issues to obtain the requirements needed.
• Ensure compliance with export-control rules and regulations.
• File financing statements for equipment sales in applicable regions.
• Support special projects, including (compliance with) record retention, contract management, and completing supplier profile forms.
• Create, review, and maintain distributor contracts.
Job Functions, continued:
• Track rental & loan of equipment.
• Develop/update/improve internal SOPs for efficient administration of the department.
• Prepare metrics on contract operations.
• Timely completion of any other legal and administrative tasks assigned to you.
Your Talents/Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in law or relevant field. J.D. preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
• Project Management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, research/problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on projects requiring a high level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team, when needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
