The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing all contractual and commercial aspects of mall development projects, ensuring full compliance with UAE laws and regulations, while protecting the company’s interests and supporting successful project delivery in line with Mirage standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- With over 12 years of experience in contracts management within large-scale mall, retail, or mixed-use developments in the UAE or GCC region
- Strong knowledge of UAE construction laws, commercial regulations, and contract practices
- Extensive experience with FIDIC and other standard forms of contract
- Proven experience in managing complex claims and dispute resolution
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of contracts for mall development projects, including drafting, negotiation, execution, administration, and close-out
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and service providers in compliance with UAE legal frameworks
- Ensure all contracts align with applicable UAE regulations, including construction laws, commercial laws, and local authority requirements
- Administer standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC) and ensure proper implementation across projects
- Identify contractual and commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Manage variations, claims, extension of time (EOT), and dispute resolution processes in accordance with UAE legal practices
- Liaise with legal advisors to ensure enforceability of contracts under UAE jurisdiction
- Monitor contractor and consultant performance against contractual obligations
- Support procurement and tendering processes, including preparation of contract documentation and evaluation of bids
- Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws in contractual obligations related to contractors and subcontractors
- Maintain accurate contract records and ensure proper documentation for audits and regulatory requirements
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to internal stakeholders and senior management
