A prominent International Law Firm is looking for a Conflicts Advisor to join their Conflicts & Compliance Team in their Bristol office. This is a newly created team and offers fantastic opportunities for professional growth and development.
The ideal candidate for the Conflicts Advisor role will have substantial experience in Conflicts within a commercial law firm who will be able to ensure that the firm meets its regulatory obligations under the SRA Codes of Conduct and manage its commercial risk.
Key Responsibilitiesfor theConflicts Advisor role:
Conducting conflict of interest analyses using the firm’s conflict-checking system, Intapp Open.
Assessing legal conflicts and confidential information issues in line with regulations and common law.
Identifying and evaluating commercial risk factors at the client acceptance and conflict-checking stage.
Advising partners and fee earners throughout the conflict-checking process to ensure compliance.
Developing strong relationships with legal teams and practice groups to facilitate efficient conflict resolution.
Coordinating with US counterparts to assess potential conflicts and obtain waivers as required under US ethical rules.
Developing knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct rules relating to conflicts of interest and the duties of confidentiality and disclosure.
Qualifications & Skills:
Prior experience in a Conflicts role in a law firm environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and interpret information methodically.
Strong knowledge of professional rules and regulations regarding conflicts of interest.
Proficiency in conflicts software.
