About the Role:
Kazhe Law Group PC, a full-service boutique law firm, is seeking a full-time associate attorney with at least 1 year of legal experience to support its growing practice representing tribal governments, tribal health organizations, and tribally owned enterprises. This is a unique opportunity to serve Native communities and work on high-impact matters across litigation, governance, healthcare, and business development.
Responsibilities:
Support the managing attorney in matters involving tribal governments, gaming regulation, and development projects
Conduct legal research, draft legal memoranda, and prepare correspondence and client deliverables
Advise clients on regulatory and administrative law matters
Collaborate with the senior attorney on corporate, transactional, and nonprofit matters
Assist with healthcare compliance, real estate transactions, leasing, and tribal governance issues
Practice Areas May Include:
Tribal governance, employment, housing, and intergovernmental affairs
Gaming regulation and tribal economic development
Tribal health law and healthcare regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, Medicaid, Medicare)
Business, nonprofit, and real estate transactions
Environmental and cultural resource protection
Administrative law and limited litigation
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in the California Bar
At least 1 year of relevant legal experience
Strong research, writing and communication skills
Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
Experience with Native clients, tribal governments, or healthcare organizations is preferred
What We Offer:
Salary Range: $110,000 – $135,000 (commensurate with experience)
