Claim Servicing Specialist Jobs in United States at ClaimAngel

Title: Claim Servicing Specialist

Company: ClaimAngel

Location: United States

Company Description

ClaimAngel built the market for Case Equity. When someone is injured, has a legal case, and is struggling to pay their bills, we help them unlock their case’s value before it settles. It happens on our marketplace, where 25+ funders compete at one set rate.

Role Description

The Claim Servicing Specialist is a full-time remote role responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of funded claims throughout their lifecycle on the ClaimAngel platform.

This is a phone-forward, relationship-driven position. You will own an assigned book of plaintiff law firms and serve as their primary point of contact at ClaimAngel, spending most of your day on outbound and inbound calls with paralegals, case managers, attorneys, and insurance adjusters to obtain case status and claim detail. You will then document that information in our internal systems, where it is reviewed directly by the funders on the case.

Our promise to firms and funders is that the numbers are always known. Servicing is where we keep that promise after the money goes out.

The hardest part of this role is information gathering. Often the people responsible for providing an update do not, and it falls to you to find it another way. Success depends on persistence, curiosity, and building enough standing with a firm that they take your call and give you what you need.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary ClaimAngel contact for an assigned book of plaintiff law firms, building durable relationships with the paralegals and case managers who handle those files
  • Conduct high-volume outbound calls to law firms on a defined follow-up cadence, and handle inbound calls from firms on your book
  • Contact insurance carriers and adjusters to obtain and verify claim detail, including claim numbers, adjuster contacts, coverage type, and policy limits
  • Know what to ask for based on case type, and dig independently when the responsible party goes quiet
  • Monitor case progress across the legal case lifecycle: treatment status, medical records and bills, liens, letters of protection, demand submission, suit filing, discovery, mediation, trial dates, settlement, and disbursement
  • Review claim documentation, validate information, and keep every funded claim current in our internal systems and in ClaimAngel’s platforms
  • Review, edit, and approve system-generated status updates within established service windows
  • Identify potential risks or discrepancies, assign and maintain risk ratings, and escalate cases requiring intervention with complete documentation
  • Maintain portfolio accuracy with no stale or outstanding records
  • Report firm-level trends and relationship developments back to sales and operations leadership
  • Maintain compliance with relevant policies and procedures, and contribute to the continuous improvement of claims servicing workflows

Qualifications

Required

  • Two or more years of experience at a plaintiff personal injury firm, insurance defense firm, lien resolution company, pre-settlement funding company, or in insurance claims
  • Working knowledge of how a personal injury case progresses, from letter of representation through disbursement
  • Demonstrated comfort with high-volume inbound and outbound phone communication, and a preference for picking up the phone over sending an email
  • Proven ability to obtain information from unresponsive parties through persistence and independent research
  • Strong written communication, sufficient for documentation reviewed by external financial partners
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, particularly with dates, dollar figures, and names
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage a personal follow-up cadence without direct supervision, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with a CRM or case management system, and basic spreadsheet and reporting software

Preferred

  • Prior experience in claims servicing, legal funding, or related financial services
  • HubSpot experience
  • Spanish fluency
  • Experience on the carrier or adjuster side of insurance claims
  • Familiarity with SmartAdvocate, Litify, Filevine, or Clio
  • Experience reviewing or correcting automated or AI-generated output

What we offer

  • Fully remote
  • A fast paced startup environment that is growing quickly
  • A fun, collaborative team
  • Direct influence on process and technology decisions
