What You’ll Do

Position Summary

The Compliance Specialist reports to the Director Legal, Compliance, Privacy & Security (“Director”) and has a key role in supporting the Director in implementing the seven elements of an effective compliance and helping promote the Company’s vision, mission, and culture. The position also supports the Director in the implementation and strategic direction of Suvida’s Compliance Program (“Program”). This includes creating a compliance strategy that ensures business accountability for oversight over the day to day monitoring of the business areas as well as supporting business partners in implementing that strategy. Essential responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

Support in the development, implementation, and oversight of the Compliance Department key activities that support the seven elements of an effective compliance program as outlined by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
Support risk assessments and processes and collaborate with business owners to support tracking of progress and updates quarterly or on an as-needed basis.
Conduct research and develop written communication on regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing updates upon request.
Manage compliance platforms and compile information and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information.
Research issues presented to the company (including, but not limited to):
a. Regulations and Regulatory Matters
b. Policies and Procedures
c. General legal matters and overall risk management, including privacy and security, patient complaints and any filings and/or applicable responses.
Support execution on the annual Compliance work plan.
Support and provide ongoing compliance education and training to employees (including creating and updating training materials annually and as-needed).
Support the Compliance Hotline, conduct investigations and provide timely responses to inquiries and compliance issues.
Support annual review and updating of compliance policies and procedures (including Suvida Code of Conduct).
Create compliance communication content and develop annual calendar to ensure ongoing organizational awareness of compliance obligations.
Participate in key compliance projects and initiatives needed to support organizational goals (including: vendor oversight, contract review and other as-needed).

What You’ll Bring

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Well-developed ability and passion for problem solving and making complex topics understandable for various audiences.
Experience working in healthcare quality, compliance, operations and supporting the risk assessment process, monitoring or audit activities and response to inquiries.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
Self-starter and interested in learning and developing expertise in new and emerging areas through education, networking and new experiences.
Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; written and verbal.
Ability to organize complex materials.
Attention to detail.
Enjoy building and developing relationship.

Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
Certification in Compliance, Masters or JD in Law or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred
