Sellick Partnership are delighted to be working with a well-established local authority in London in their search for Chief Legal Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis. This role requires someone who can work full-time and attend the office as much as possible (at least 2-3 days per week).
The responsibilities of the successful Chief Legal Advisor will be to:
Manage a busy team with diverse legal specialisms
Advise senior client officers and elected members
Discharging Monitoring Officer responsibilities
Directly reporting into the Assistant Director of Legal and Governance and Director of Legal and Governance
Motivate and help develop the team
Our client is seeking a Chief Legal Advisor who:
Holds a current practicing certificate (Barrister, Solicitor or CILEx)
Experience from a local authority background
The ability to work at pace and juggle competing priorities
Has legal practice management experience
Dealt with governance matters previously
Can attend the offices as and when necessary (usually around 2 – 3 days per week)
